Living Locally July 3, 2007

I believe in living locally as much as possible. This means instead of shopping online to save money, I prefer to spend a bit more locally in order to know my neighbors and build relationships with real people; you know, the kind that can look back at you. People and community matter. So, I was really excited to learn that we have a local running store. I thought I’d have to wait for my trips into Chicago to get good help, but I found a Dick Pond Athletics through the Pearl Izumi website. It’s literally 4 minutes from the church building. I stopped in today and talked with the manager, a young, very helpful guy, about running shoes and power gels. I feel like I now have a place to go for wisdom and general help.
