I have been wondering about this – when will it be time to replace my running shoes? Jeff Galloway answers this with a pretty concrete way of knowing when you should move on to a new pair. Check it out here.

My shoes have about 340 miles on them, and I plan on getting something new (and better) this Spring.

I’d love to get close to where you are on your shoes. It varies from person to person, what type of shoe, what type of surface you’re on, etc. I usually replace mine when something doesn’t quite feel right. I don’t like to wear them all the way out, though. Usually there’s a transition to the new shoe and then the old shoe becomes perfect for “everyday” use.

I read that after 400 to 500 miles you should change your shoes, I change mine between 300 and 400 miles…but I have to agree with David, everyone is different. Just don’t wait too long! 🙂
