Half-Marathon Road March 15, 2008
Posted by Joe in running.trackback
I am back into the running groove and excited about running in 2008 – for the first time this year. Good grief. I have learned my lesson and will try and find a treadmill next winter if the weather get and stays this crazy again. Today I did an easy 2 .2 miles in 22:19.
Anyway, I have chosen a race to train for; the Half Madness half-marathon in Batavia, IL on August 31st. It is very local for me, and I am excited. This means I will be blogging more often – sharing helpful things I find related to running. Speaking of which, the Chicago Area Runners Association new website is excellent. Big improvement. Check it out.
Good to see you “back”. Wishing you many warm outdoor running days ahead.
Great stuff. It’s always good to have a goal.
Winters can be very discouraging… and so can treadmills. Glad to see you survived and kept running. What is your goal for the half-marathon this August?
Congrats on getting signed up!! It’ll make the rest of this year breeze by. Looking forward to reading more.
Thanks for the encouragement guys.
Curtis, I have never run more than 8 miles, so I am not sure what my goal will be. Right now, I just want to finish strong. As it gets closer I’ll have a sense at what I want to do.
Joe, great to hear about your enthusiasm and plans for the half marathon. And better half madness than complete madness…
We all develop a great deal as runners training for a half marathon.
Very excited for you!
Thanks Tom. I appreciate it – and all your help.
