Next 3 Weeks March 19, 2008

Wednesday. 3.1 miles in 31:25 (10:08 pace). That’s okay. I was hoping to be under 31 minutes, but I don’t think it’ll take longer than two/three weeks to get back to where I was. I’ll share my program later this week.

Make sure to not get too caught up in what your time is on every run. It’s best to keep it mixed up with slower/easy runs, tempo runs, “normal” runs, hills, etc.

plus, watch your heart rate. In training, monitoring your heart rate is more important than your speed. Like David said, mix up speed training with hills and slow tempo runs and time / endurance improvements will quickly follow.

Thanks guys. I know you’re right. In fact, I don’t look at my watch at all while running. I’ll be sure and mix up distance, pace and type of run next week. Thanks for the direction!
